Riomar Hotel was founded in 1969 by the Malé family.
It resides in a privileged location in a corner of the Costa Brava, in the medieval village of Sant Martí d’Empúries where the Greco-Roman ruins are. The hotel has direct access to the beach, with views of the Mediterranean Sea and Gulf of Roses.
The Hotel has extensive facilities, and seating areas with Mediterranean garden.
Informal Hotel, renovated with simplicity and uniqueness. It offers parking, a swimming pool and free Wi-Fi for hotel guests.
We offer restaurant service, Snack-bar, massages & tennis court.
In the morning, the buffet breakfast with homemade cakes to taste every day, on the terrace of our garden.
Come, and discover what makes our hotel a different space to enjoy a well-deserved holiday for anyone who is looking for relaxation in the most Mediterranean style.
You can have a swimming session alone on the perfect beach, at a sunrier, enjoy your breakfast under the trees, on the terrace, read a book quietly in the pool while now and then take a look at the trees swaying in the wind. And you can enjoy a very good four course meal in the old dining room style.
If you want a change, there are good restaurants within a romantic 10 minute walk, and there is a very casual bar on the beach. You can also rent a bike to see more of the surroundings.
The Riomar is different from most of the other hotels we have stayed in.
It’s stuck in a time warp somewhere around the mid-70s
So for people who don’t like new plastic hotels, it’s probably perfect.
It is very basic, but its saving grace is the proximity to the beach, if you like Wind / Kite surfing it would be perfect.
We were lucky and our room was next to the WiFi booster, unfortunately the bar and pool area had no signal.
All the staff were friendly, many of the guests were regulars who had been visiting the same place for many years.
It seems that the main guests are French and German!
So if you are looking for a simple no-frills vacation, this may be the place for you!
